In short

Onyx IPTV collects no personal data. There is no account, no sign-up, no analytics or advertising SDK, and no tracking across apps or websites.

Everything you enter — playlists, credentials, favourites, history — stays on your device or in your own iCloud. The developer has no access to it.

What is stored on the device

Your IPTV provider credentials are kept in the iOS Keychain rather than in ordinary app settings. The same applies to a parental PIN if you set one.

Playlists, channel lists, favourites, watch history and progress, programme data and your settings live in the app's protected storage.

A technical diagnostics log is kept locally so playback problems can be traced. Credentials and stream addresses are redacted from it. The log never leaves your device and is not transmitted anywhere.

iCloud sync

With Onyx Pro you can sync favourites, history and connections between your devices. That data is stored in your own iCloud account and travels only over Apple's infrastructure. It is not sent to the developer.

Without Onyx Pro, no syncing takes place.

Outbound connections

To your IPTV provider: Onyx fetches playlists, programme data and streams from the address you enter yourself. Onyx has no relationship with that provider and no influence over what it records about you. Its own privacy policy applies.

To Wikipedia: to show descriptions for films and series, the cleaned title is sent as a search term to Wikipedia's public interface. No personal data and no identifiers are included.

To Apple: purchases and subscriptions run through the App Store, syncing through iCloud. The developer receives no payment details from Apple.

To YouTube: only when you deliberately open a trailer is the search handed over to YouTube or your browser. Their terms then apply.

Artificial intelligence

On supported devices Onyx can use Apple's on-device models, for example to interpret a search query. Processing happens entirely on the device. No content is sent to a server, and the feature can be turned off in Settings.

Children

Onyx is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect data from children. For shared households there is PIN protection and lockable categories.

Your control

In Settings you can remove connections and clear history and caches. Remove connections and any parental PIN in the app before uninstalling Onyx: deleting the app removes its data container, but entries in the Apple Keychain may remain as part of normal system behaviour.

When iCloud sync is enabled, synchronized data may remain in your personal iCloud or Keychain account. Turn off sync and remove the relevant data in the app before uninstalling; additional iCloud and Keychain data is managed through your Apple account's system settings.

Because no data sits with the developer, there is nothing there to hand over or erase on request.
